Thank you for your interest in joining the Buffalo Broadcasters Association Our organization mission is to collect and preserve broadcasting memorabilia, artifacts, air checks, film and video.  A big project currently underway is to digitize and catalog the news film from Ch 2 (WGR-TV) and Ch 4 (WBEN-TV) from the 60's-80's. We hold our annual Hall of Fame ceremony each September where six people are inducted.  This event is held at the studios of WNED and is taped for broadcast airing on local cable station throughout the year. We also have several networking events each year including a media night out happy hour in June, and our annual membership meeting held in December.  Beginning in 2009, we launched an annual 5k walk to raise money for the Association and a charity of our choice. As a member you are eligible to vote in elections of our Board of Directors and Hall of Fame inductees and receive our annual collectors edition calendar. Our mission statement and a membership application are below.  We look forward to having you as a member and welcome your input.

Buffalo Broadcasters Mission Statement During the pioneering decades of broadcasting, Buffalo, New York played a key role in station development and was a talent pool for the national networks. Many Buffalo Broadcasters played significant roles in the development of the Broadcast Industry. The Buffalo Broadcast Pioneers/Buffalo Broadcasters was founded as a 501-C3 non-profit organization in 1996 for the purpose of collecting and preserving artifacts and the history of Broadcasting in Upstate New York. Our ongoing goal is to recognize and honor the people, past and present, which have worked and contributed to Radio and Television in our broadcast region through an annual Hall of Fame celebration. Our long range goal is the creation of a museum facility to display the memorabilia of Broadcasting, and tell the story of our people. Through our mentor program, our members will be available to support, guide and encourage the next generation of Broadcasters and to ensure that our rich history is preserved.
