It’s official!

We’ve moved! The Buffalo Broadcasters Association archive has officially moved into its new home at the Family Help Center (FHC). We are very grateful to Bob Sweeney, Deborah Merrifield and the entire FHC family for all their help in providing space for us to house our collection.

As a partner, we’ll be helping to raise awareness as they provide valuable assistance to children and families in need across Erie County. You can learn more about the Family Help Center by going to www.familyhelpcenter.net.

Special thanks to Herb Flemming for coordinating all details of the move. We are also very grateful to Dave May, Don Yearke and Steve Jager for all their help with all the on-site details during the transition process over the past several weeks.

We’d also like to extend our thanks to Richard Taylor from Austin Air for his longtime support over the years and Chairman Emeritus Don Angelo for his help.

Our archive site is filled with memorabilia from Buffalo’s broadcasting history.  There’s an old Channel 4 camera.  We have old radio cart machines and control boards, plus countless posters and station publicity materials.  And there are thousands of reels of news TV film from the 1960s and ’70s, waiting to be digitized.  Much of this material will eventually be publicly displayed when our museum project with the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame and Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame is completed.

We are looking for volunteers to help us with the next step of organizing the collection on site. If you have some time- we’d love to hear from you. A few hours can make a big difference!

Please send us a note at info@buffalobroadcasters.com. Thank you for your support of the BBA!
