The Buffalo Broadcasters Association recognizes an undergraduate or graduate student with a promising future in radio, television, digital media and/or social media with the annual Tim Russert Media Career Award.
The award is named in honor of Buffalo native Tim Russert, a lawyer and journalist who spent the last 16 years of his career as moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press before passing away at age 58 in 2008.
Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student and pursing an academic major encompassing radio, television, digital media or social media.
The successful applicant will be awarded $1,000 and be honored at the BBA’s Hall of Fame celebration in September.
The applications must include:
2. A 250-word statement of commitment to a career in radio, television, digital media or social media
3. Letter of recommendation from a professor, academic advisor or media professional confirming the student’s capability to pursue a successful career in media
4. Links to an electronic portfolio and/or work samples
Send all four components to [email protected] by the April 1, 2020 deadline. Only complete applications will be considered.
