WGRZ-TV News Director Athan Kompos announced late last week that Collin Bishop has been promoted to the role of Assistant News Director.
Bishop has been at the station for 15 years and most recently served as Executive Producer of the station’s flagship morning show, “Daybreak.” Before joining WGRZ-TV in 2002, Bishop worked at WNDU-TV and WSJV-TV in Indiana. Bishop had previously served as Co-Acting News Director in the summer of 2016 after Jeff Woodard left the station for an opportunity outside of television.
Townsquare Media station WYRK-FM was nominated as one the Country Music Awards’ Medium Market Station of the Year earlier this year.
While they didn’t win, that station still maintains its dominance in the Western New York market as the most listened to radio station. The station is led by Program Director Wendy Lynn, morning show hosts Clay Moden, Dale Mussen, and Liz Mantel, and one of the largest radio teams in the area.
