Chief Meteorologist at WIVB with 4 Warn Weather, Don Paul, will announce his plans to retire toward the end of March at the end of tonight’s 6pm newscast.
Paul has been a fixture in the Buffalo broadcasting scene for decades and has spent most of his career at WIVB from 1984-1988 and then rejoined at 1991. He also spent three years at crosstown rival, WGRZ, from 1988-1991.
He has been the primary meteorologist on the station’s 5, 6, 10, & 11pm newscasts and was joined by Todd Santos, the station’s future cheif meteorologist, for various broadcasts and essentially sharing duties.
A message from WIVB News Director Scott Levy reads:
“After 30+ years on local TV, Don Paul will be leaving in March.
Please join me in congratulating him on his success and leadership here at News 4.
Todd Santos will replace Don as Chief Meteorologist.
A search for a 4th weather staff member will begin.”
