A former Buffalo radio broadcaster with ties to WBFO and the old AM 970 has died.

Bruce Allen Kolesnick was a news director and then interim general manager of WBFO in the late 1980s.  Before that, he was the host of “Weekend at Your Service” on WEBR, Newsradio 970.  He was also a newscaster at WECK radio at 1230AM.

After leaving WBFO, he spent the past 25 years at the Office of Special Events at the University at Buffalo, where he was Associate Director of Marketing and Programs.

Kolesnick died suddenly July 4th.  Kolesnick is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen, and two children.

A memorial service was held at UB’s Center for the Arts.
