Don Polec was managing a Buffalo burger King in 1977 when he sent a comedic resume that WKBW-TV boss Phil Beuth couldn't ignore. Riverside native Polec listed job experiences including "urban sheep herder" and "professional vagrant." Beuth was charmed and rolled the dice. The result? Polec found himself as the artful, zany feature reporter at Channel 7 and stirred up enough word-of-mouth in Buffalo to catch a one-way ticket to Philadelphia in 1982. In 2009 Don announced his move into syndication and can now be seen on WGRZ-TV.
