At 4 p.m. on Monday, a video memoir called “One Reporter’s Journey” will aired on WIVB-TV. It marked the final step in the long and lauded reporting career of Buffalo Broadcasters Association Board Member Rich Newberg.

Newberg announced his retirement from WIVB in November. He is a graduate of Ithaca College and has worked for television news outlets in Chicago, Syracuse and Rochester. Newberg came to WIVB in 1978 and ultimately spent 37 of his 46 years in the news business in Buffalo.

Among many accolades, Newberg is known for his 1996 Emmy-winning Holocaust documentary, “Lost Child: The Story of the Birkenau Boys. He was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame in 2006 and was most recently honored with the BBA’s 2012 Pinnacle Award for his lifetime achievements in TV news.
