In a move announced on Thursday to Entercom staff, the Roger Christian era officially came to a close on Star 102.5 (WTSS-FM).
Roger Christian, who was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Association’s Hall of Fame in 2018, was let go by the station late last week. His career spanned 43 years at the same position on the radio dial and transitioned through a number of format changes. His career included roles as the morning host, music director, and program director of Rock 102. Christian’s career began in 1964 at WYSL-FM as a disc jockey and continued after graduation from Franklin College.
In an article from the Buffalo News, it was mentioned that Entercom, the parent company of WTSS-FM, has been making cost-cutting changes at stations across the country.
