In recapping some of the moves from the past few weeks, Townsquare Media has made 3 changes to their staff.
Mix 96 (WMSX-FM) launched a new morning show in mid-March led by Dave Fields and Melody Nardone. The new pair began nearly 10 months after Laura Daniels left the station.
Fields is a Western New York native but has worked across the country in the past 20 years from Washington to Florida. He returned to Buffalo after a tenure with WKDQ-FM in Evansville, Indiana as the morning drive host and brand manager. He is a graduate of The College at Brockport.
Nardone is new to the Buffalo radio scene but was manager of the radio station at Genesee Community College, where she also attended. She is also the lead singer of the band, Surrender Reality, and has appeared on nationally televised singing competitions like The Voice and American Idol. Before making the move to radio full-time, Nardone taught in Buffalo Public Schools.
Yasmin Young, afternoon DJ on WBLK-FM, has been named the new Director of Promotions and Marketing for the Townsquare Cluster. She will continue her air shift as she takes on these new responsibilities. Before Young came to Buffalo, she worked at WPEG-FM for five years.
Also, Mike Magnafici joins Townsquare Media as Digital Sales Manager for the company. He was previously with WUTV-TV.
Environmental reporter Dan Telvock has left Investigative Post and is joining WIVB-TV as the station’s Investigative Producer.
Telvock joined Investigative Post in 2012 and was the first reporter that Jim Heaney’s organization hired. Before coming back to Buffalo, Telvock worked at newspapers in Virginia for 13 years. His reporting has been honored and/or recognized by the Investigative Reporters & editors, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association, among others.
Telvock fills the vacancy at WIVB-TV after former Investigative Producer Rose Ciotta left the station in 2016.
