Two reporters with Western New York roots are coming back home after years away from Buffalo.
WGRZ-TV added Leanne Stuck (above) to their reporting team in late September. The WNY native attended Sweet Home High School and graduated from Niagara University.
Stuck went to report down the 90 at WJET-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania and was a reporter and weekend anchor at WEHT-TV in Evansville, Indiana before coming back to the NBC affiliate.
Gabrielle Mediak announced on Wednesday through her Facebook page that she will be returning to Western New York in January 2019 as a reporter for WIVB-TV.
Mediak has spent the past two years away from Western New York working for Spectrum News in the Southern Tier and Central New York regions. The Buffalo State graduate went to work for Spectrum News Buffalo following graduation as a producer and news assistant for the station before making the move in 2016 to the Twin Tiers.
In an article from the Buffalo News, Spectrum News Buffalo announced that starting Monday, October 22, the station will feature a live morning newscast from 7 to 9 a.m.
The newscast will feature anchors Scott Patterson and John Borsa along with reporters Mike Arena, Maura Christie, and Breanna Fuss. Dan Russell will handle weather duties and Barry Vee will be covering traffic for the broadcast.
With this change, Spectrum will be competing head-to-head with flagship network morning news programs and WIVB-TV’s Wake Up! airing on the CW23.
