Lawrence “Larry” Peters, an engineer and master control room operator at WGRZ, Channel 2, died on September 5th.

WGRZ colleague Scott Semson says of Larry:

He was a thirty year engineer here at the station after serving in the Navy and working in the local steel industry.  Larry was one of our best Master Control operators.  He was one of those people that could catch any problem ahead of time and make sure it was corrected before it ever hit the air.  When I think of Larry this phrase comes to mind —  “Of course I don’t look busy…I did it right the first time.”

Larry was the husband of the late Pamela Peters (nee Quick); and is survived by two daughters, Mary and Sarah Peters; step-children Ashlee (Matt) Flanagan and Justin (Jessica) Weber; mother Clara Mae Peters; sister Susan (Donald) Wright; and nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the LAKESIDE MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC. 4199 Lake Shore Rd. (corner Camp Rd. & Rte. 5) Hamburg, NY 716-627-2919 on Saturday, September 27th at 11 AM.
