WNED-FM has named Mark Swarts (above) as the new morning host following the departure of Bob Krum in early May.

Swarts, who joined the station in January 2017, had been hosting the some of the station’s evening programming before making the switch to his new role.

In a press release from WNED, Swarts worked in radio 37 years ago as Production Director and Morning DJ for WWOL and WACJ.

He will officially take over the morning show on Monday, July 9 and host the 6 to 11 a.m. program.

In case you missed it, former morning host Bob Krum left the station in early May after ten years with the station.

Krum had originally joined the station as a music librarian and maintained the station’s CD collection. In 2013, Krum took over the morning host duties and developed several holiday programs including “A Krummy Christmas.”

Before working at WNED-FM, Krum was a mathematics teacher at Canisius High School for over two decades.

Matt Moran is the newest reporter/anchor at WBEN-AM and joined the station in May 2018 in a full-time capacity.

Moran is a graduate of SUNY Oswego and had worked at Spectrum News Buffalo as a Sports Production Assistant and as a part-time producer and reporter for WBEN-AM before landing the full-time gig.

He fills the vacancy created by Dave Debo, who left the station in March to become News Director of WBFO-FM.
