Our final female broadcaster we’re recognizing as a part of Women’s History Month who was inducted into the Hall of Fame is someone we still occasionally see on television and hear on the radio in various commercials.
Upon arriving on the local television scene back in 1977, Susan Banks proved herself by bringing us the news in a dignified and authoritative manner. She always brought the perfect balance of credibility, warmth and camaraderie to the anchor chair while working with her co-anchors, Irv Weinstein and Keith Radford, at WKBW-TV.

Susan spent two decades doing two stints at Channel 7, from 1977-81, and from 1990-2006, with stops in between in Boston, WGRZ-TV and Houston. She was a role model to many young women who were interested in pursuing a career in the industry and helped to “raise the bar” of excellence in reporting in the Western New York broadcasting community.

The Buffalo Broadcasters Association is proud to salute 2007 Hall of Fame Inductee Susan Banks during National Women’s History Month.
