Jeff Glor - CBS News anchor/reporter

 

Jeff Glor is an Emmy-Award winning journalist for CBS News. He grew up in the Town of Tonawanda, went to Syracuse University and started his journalism career at WSTM-TV. From Syracuse, Jeff moved on to Boston, to be an anchor and reporter for WHDH-TV. He then was hired by CBS News to report for the The Early Show, ascending to the anchor for the CBS Saturday Evening News and reporting for CBS Sunday Morning. After a number of roles in anchoring and reporting for CBS News, he became the permanent anchor for the CBS Evening News. Glor is currently the co-host of CBS Saturday Morning and a CBS News special correspondent.

Maria Genero - WGRZ-TV Weather Anchor  

 

Maria Genero is the weather anchor at WGRZ. Genero started out in radio at WYRK and later worked on the air at Rock 102. She also has worked at WKBW-TV as well as stations in Miami, Los Angeles and New York City and appeared on network television. During her time at WIVB, she also was enrolled at the University of Mississippi Broadcast Meteorology program and was credentialed by the National Weather Service.

Janet Snyder - WKSE-FM Morning Host  

 

Janet Snyder is the longtime co-host of Janet & Nick in The Morning on WKSE-FM(KISS 98.5). Upon graduation from Ithaca College, Janet returned home and joined KISS, wherebefore long, she was midday host. Two years later, Janet moved to New York’s top-rated WHTZ (Z-100). After a four-year run at Z-100, she returned home, making history as the first woman to
lead a morning show in Buffalo.

Janet is known for her interviews with music’s top stars and entertaining listeners each day with morning show partners Nicholas Picholas and Wease. Janehas assisted many local charities throughout the years, including leading her team to raise more than $4 million for the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital with the Kiss Cares for Kids Radiothon broadcasts.

Janet also worked in television at WGRZ-TV for a decade, hosting Western New York Living, and Your Today in Western New York.

Jerry Reo - Retired Radio Disc Jockey & Programmer  

 

Jerry Reo started his long career at WGVA in his hometown of Geneva, New York in 1964 after graduating from Emerson College in Boston. In 1968, he moved to Buffalo to become music director at WSYL and afternoon drive personality as “Jim Bradley.” Jerry moved to WGR in 1973 as music director and on-air personality. During his nearly two decades at WGR, Jerry became sports director, was straight man for Stan Roberts, continued as music director and later as program director. Jerry also did morning news with John Zach at WGR. He also served as morning drive personality at WECK. In addition to his radio career, Jerry hosted “Masterminds,” a high school TV game show on Adelphia Cable. He was Public Address announcer for University at Buffalo teams for more than 20 years and he was also the announcer for the Buffalo Bisons.

Kurt Murphy - WIVB-TV Art Director  

 

For more than 40 years, Kurt Murphy has used his talents to help define the character and essence of WIVB-TV and the Buffalo-Niagara Region. His most recent New York Emmy Award was received for his dual roles of co-producer and art director of the 2021 primetime special The Buffalo Story: History Happens Here. To date, Kurt has won four New York Emmy Awards, four Broadcast Designer International Awards, ten Telly Awards, two Communicator Awards and many regional design awards. He has also mentored interns, served as adjunct professor for The University at Buffalo, as well as at Daemen University. Kurt has made time to donate many hours of his talents to area non-profits.

Tim Wenger - WBEN / WGR / WWKB Operations Manager  

 

Tim Wenger was recently promoted to Senior Vice President and Market Manager of Audacy Buffalo.  Tim previously was operations manager/director of content and digital strategy. He oversees content on WBEN, WGR and WWKB Radio. Tim also serves the company as the National News/Talk Format Captain. Tim’s background in news reporting and anchoring, in addition to his passion for current events and sports helped him to move from being a reporter and anchor to becoming News Director for WBEN. Over the years his talents and experience led him to a number of promotions. In time, Tim became Program Director of WBEN, as part of the transition team that moved the station from a full-service format to being a full-time news and talk station with the most live and local news and talk programming in Buffalo radio.

Penny Wolfgang - Retired NYS Supreme Court Justice  

 

The Buffalo Broadcasters Association is proudly looking forward to honoring retired New York State Supreme Court Justice Penny Wolfgang with the Service to Broadcasting Award. The judge has been a much-admired legal touchstone in this community, always ready and willing to work with journalists seeking information and camera access to the courts. Penny has continued to inform the public on legal matters from the popular “Law and You” segments on WKBW TV to community programming today on WBBZ-TV.

Joe Romanowski - Indigo Productions  

 

Indigo Productions has been providing production elements, lighting, sound, staging to WNY for more than 50 years and they have been a key player at many of the Buffalo Broadcasters events.  Congratulations Joe!
